Map of the Territory of New Mexico. A Perfect Recreation™ of the engraving from the Topographical Sketches by Lieutenant W. G. Peck in 1846-7. Published by Order of the War Department. 1847. 20 3/8" X 25 7/8".

This Map of the Territory of New Mexico was produced by the U.S. War Department in preparation for the annexation of the Spanish-held territories of Texas and New Mexico and, ultimately, the Mexican War. This significant engraving details the established routes to and from the colonial Spanish capitol of Santa Fe as well as the topography of the Territory.

This work is an intricately beautiful time machine that will provide years of conversation, contemplation and enjoyment.

"Absolutely perfect and magnificent".
