A Map of the Province of New York, with Part of Pensilvania and New England. A Perfect Recreation of the hand-colored engraving, in two sections. By John Montresor. 1777. 36½” x 29”

In 1775, on the eve of the American Revolution, Captain John Montresor surveyed and drew this most important map of the area for the “Lt. General of His Majesty’s Forces” in North America. “Re-published with Great Improvements April 1, 1777”, this comprehensively detailed and accurate map was the guide for British military operations in and north of New York and throughout the Hudson and Connecticut River Valleys. Detailed insets of the White Hills and Lake Champlain areas appear in the upper right and left corners.

Our Perfect Recreations of the complete two-section historic map is available as part of a specially priced set: New York & New England in 1777. Our Perfect Recreation of the Lower New York & New England section is available separately.
